Mind-body Wellness Services

I have been practicing yoga since my youth, alongside a family member. In my 20s, yoga because much more than a physical practice, but a true mind-body wellness strategy. Yoga is true preparation for mediation and this has led me on the path to deeper breathing and the ability to find peace in the silence. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at InnerFire Yoga and aim to complete additional training to bring yogic practices into my clinical work in the future. I am formerly trained by Mare Chapman in mediation practices, and informally draw from various scholars and sources as my personal mediation practice grows.

I acknowledge the Eastern roots of yoga and mediative practices. Given my identity as a white woman guiding others in these practices, I aim to reduce the co-optation of yoga as just exercise and increase access to these mindfulness practices as strategies for living an embodied life. These are services and gifts to be offered to all.

In addition to the services I offer below, I currently teach yoga at the Dane County Women's Jail and am involved in other efforts that honor the humanity of incarcerated folks by bringing mindfulness services to the through engaging with the Prison Yoga Project. You can find me in the community substitute teaching yoga at the Goodman Community Center as well.

Yoga

1:1 private lessons, small groups, classes for workplaces, corporate retreats, personal events

- My teaching style is warm and inviting, focused on breath work and mindful movement, rooted in classical hatha yoga. My classes have laughter and lightness in them. I teach power yoga, vinyasa style yoga, restorative yoga, gentle yoga, and slowly flowing style yoga. I am influenced by yin and the original hot yoga or Bikram-style yoga. I aim to break down poses, highlight the benefits, and find what is accessible in your body. Yoga is for everybody if you have a teacher who can teach explicitly to you!

- Yoga classes are curated for your specific mobility needs and limitations, crafted around your interests and event theme, and personalized to your unique yoga requests. The length of class is customizable to your event. Optional hands on assists may be offered to encourage proper alignment or to deepen poses. Props may be suggested to make postures more accessible. Yoga nidra, a deep state of relaxation is also offered to close yoga classes.

Mediation

1:1 private lessons, small group, classes for places, corporate retreats, personal events

- Perhaps you are listening along to guided meditation tracks and it's only getting you so far in feeling calm. Learning to sit in silence is hard! Receiving guidance and teaching on learning how to mediate is important because it is not an innate skill; this practice needs instruction. I support folks in learning how to master their attention, train their focus, and work with their wandering minds to bring greater calm to their brains and bodies. Let me show you the way! We will work on skills focusing on stepping stones that build your mindfulness toolkit up from mini moments of awareness to longer sessions in silence. It's meditation practice, not meditation perfect, after all!

Sound Baths

- I am pursuing education on sound baths in 2025 and beyond! More details will be shared after my learning experiences.

- Sound baths offer individuals and groups the opportunity to invite relaxation and the reduction of tension through vibrational frequencies facilitated through instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, drums, and more. This experience may leave a participant feeling more settled and refreshed!
